Home and Away Cattery Dorchester

Frome Whitfield Farm, Frome Whitfield, Dorchester DT2 7SF, UK – 01305 266977

Paula is absolutely lovely, and obviously not only loves what she does, but adores cats! Both of my cats are guest phobic, and get quite worked up if we take them away from home. Since using Home and Away, they come back amazingly calm, and no longer run and hide the second you open their carrier. I never worry about their safety or well-being here!

Casterbridge Boarding Kennels

Roman Road Farm/Old Sherborne Rd, Charlton Down, Dorchester DT2 9SP, UK – 01305 250230

Been leaving my dogs here for 15 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. I have complete confidence in Melanie and her staff. All my dogs have been happy to be left which is a good sign I think. Prices are very reasonable and Melanie clearly knows what she is about. I can recommend.

This is the best kennels I have ever used - would not put my dogs anywhere else - Melanie is an absolute dog lover and very experienced dog person and I would not trust my dogs with anyone else - a fantastic location with lots of stimulation for the dogs to see from the kennels - the kennels are out ward facing over beautiful fields full of live stock and the dogs are let out to run in a paddock on a regular basis every day and you can take you own food if you wish your dog to take their regular diet. If you want to go away and not worry about your dog put them in here - I swear my dogs enjoy their holiday more then I do !!!!!!!

Green Valley Yurts

Longmeadow, Godmanstone, Dorchester DT2 7AE, UK – 07970 298427

What a stunningly beautiful setting and a very lovely collection of Yurts and bell tents. The owners are clearly very keen to provide you with a really pleasant and relaxed getaway in a beautiful environment. There are three Yurts in one field near the main large hut which is a kitchen and toilets and a communal shower and another separate bathing room with a bath. It's a perfect spot for kids with the Yurts having enough room to sleep up to five and one I believe sleeps seven. Only thing bring your eye mask as the Yurts are open to the sky around the centre of the roof with a plastic cover but no way of covering it. It would be great to have that option as the light does come in very early. The bell tents also looked very lovely and comfortable and all three are in a field next door a short walk away. The vegan cafe down the road has very interesting food and some great sweet treats. Lots of interesting places like Durdle Door and Corfe Castle are within driving distance and we really recommend going to Cerne Abbas only ten minutes away not just for the wonderful chalk drawing but also the pub the Royal Oak which the cafe owners recommended and it was really delicious the Sunday roast.

Great atmosphere. Friendly staff and the cake was amazing! Will be back again soon
