Lovely rooms and friendly staff. Set in wonderful surroundings with an excellent swimming pool and tennis court.
Beautiful grounds and comfortable. Don't think it's worth the money, unless you stay in summer to be able to use outdoor pool. Be warned, it states breakfast is included, however we were charged another twenty pounds. It okay cost twenty four pounds for an evening meal. Although a very nice place, we will not be staying there again.

Very friendly with cosy atmosphere. Food choice very extensive with 3 menu's. The owners are extremely helpful and welcoming. Well worth a visit.
This pub was fantastic. We had travelled down from Yorkshire and wanted to stop off for a quick bite to eat. We came across the Gamekeeper by accident and thought we'd give it a go. There was a lovely welcome as we came in from the owners, beautiful surroundings and decor. We Sat outside in the beer garden in the sunshine and enjoyed a delicious lunch. We could not have been better looked after. We'd happily travel back down from Harrogate to visit this pub again! Thank you for such a lovely welcome to Dorchester!

The best friendly service everytime I walk in the door, usually followed by fantastic food. It's always a pleasure to visit the Saxon Arms in Stratton!
Fantastic Sunday lunch just turned up and very courteous staff fitted us in and food first class. Thanks.. We can do it in The UK!

Had such a lovely stay and wish we could have stayed longer, Nicky is such a amazing host and honestly felt like we'd known her for years! Perfect surrounding and the room was so clean and tidy. Our stay was made even better by her having a puppy. Would defiantly be booking a stay here again if we are ever down that way again

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

What a stunningly beautiful setting and a very lovely collection of Yurts and bell tents. The owners are clearly very keen to provide you with a really pleasant and relaxed getaway in a beautiful environment. There are three Yurts in one field near the main large hut which is a kitchen and toilets and a communal shower and another separate bathing room with a bath. It's a perfect spot for kids with the Yurts having enough room to sleep up to five and one I believe sleeps seven. Only thing bring your eye mask as the Yurts are open to the sky around the centre of the roof with a plastic cover but no way of covering it. It would be great to have that option as the light does come in very early. The bell tents also looked very lovely and comfortable and all three are in a field next door a short walk away. The vegan cafe down the road has very interesting food and some great sweet treats. Lots of interesting places like Durdle Door and Corfe Castle are within driving distance and we really recommend going to Cerne Abbas only ten minutes away not just for the wonderful chalk drawing but also the pub the Royal Oak which the cafe owners recommended and it was really delicious the Sunday roast.
Great atmosphere. Friendly staff and the cake was amazing! Will be back again soon
